We are pleased to welcome all the participants and collaborators at the 15th Ordinary Meeting of the Contracting Parties to the Convention for the Protection of the Marine Environment and the Coastal Region of the Mediterranean, which will be held in Almeria from 15-18 January 2008.

Representatives from all the Contracting Parties to the Convention (the 21 countries bordering the Mediterranean and the European Community), members of the Secretariat (MEDU), Regional Action Centres (RACs), NGOs and other institutions will join forces during this period to move forward in accomplishing the Convention’s main objectives, thereby bringing about greater protection, preservation and sustainable development of the marine environment and the coastal region of the Mediterranean.
